The Utah Boating Recreation Grant provides funding to improve public boating access, safety and infrastructure across the state.

The program is funded through boating-related fees and state funding dedicated to improving Utah's waterways. As Utah's growing recreation demand continues to increase pressure on boating access and safety, this grant helps communities keep up with that demand.

Eligible Projects

Funding may be used for projects that improve boating access, infrastructure, shoreline protection and on-the-water safety.

Boating Facilities Supports the construction, repair or replacement of public boating infrastructure, including boat ramps, courtesy docks and parking areas.
Waterway Protection Focuses on protecting shoreline resources by preventing or minimizing erosion caused by vessel wave action.
Access Improvements Addresses drought-related access challenges and expands non-motorized access points to reduce congestion, conflicts and safety concerns at launch areas.
Search and Rescue Includes the purchase of search and rescue equipment to strengthen on-the-water safety and response efforts.

Application Deadline October 16, 2026 Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. MST.
